👀 I Spy


  1. One player is the “spy.”
  2. The spy secretly chooses something they can see.
  3. They say:
    “I spy with my little eye, something that is…”
  4. Then they give a clue, usually by color, shape, or size:
    • “...something red”
    • “...something round”
    • “...something big”
  5. Everyone else looks around and guesses what it is.
  6. The first person to guess correctly becomes the next spy.

  1. One player thinks of a person, place, or thing (they keep it secret - but for younger kids, it works better to provide a category (e.g., animals)).
  2. Everyone else tries to figure it out by asking yes-or-no questions only.
  3. Players take turns asking questions like:
    • “Is it an animal?”
    • “Is it bigger than a car?”
    • “Can you eat it?”
  4. The first person to guess wins and thinks of the next thing to guess. 

 

🧺 “I’m Bringing to a Picnic” (Guess the Rule Game)

  1. One player secretly thinks of a rule (example: only things that start with the letter B).
  2. They start the game by saying:
    “I’m bringing ___ to a picnic.”
    (Example: “I’m bringing bananas.”)
  3. Going around the group, each player suggests something to bring:
    • If it fits the rule, the leader says: “Yes, you can bring that.”
    • If it doesn’t, the leader says: “No, you can’t bring that.”
  4. Players keep guessing items and try to figure out the rule.
    • First player to correctly guess the rule wins that round and becomes the next leader

  5. Example Rules  (start easy... level up as needed!)

    • things that are yellow (bananas, lemons, school bus)
    • Starts with a certain letter (apples, ants, apricots)
    • Only things with double letters (cookies, cheese)
    • Only items that are alive
    • Words with a certain number of syllables
